Description
The camera shoots 4K video at up to 120fps with 10-bit 4:2:2 color sampling and both inter-frame (Long GOP) and intra-frame (All-I) codecs. It supports XAVC HS (HEVC/H.265), XAVC S-I, and XAVC S video formats, as well as S-Log3, S-Gamut3.Cine, and HLG HDR picture profiles, ensuring cinematic color grading flexibility. Slow-motion is possible up to 10x in Full HD at 240fps, Continuous 4K/60p recording is supported thanks to an effective inbody cooling system.
The FX3 utilizes a 10.2MP effective full-frame back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor for movies (12.1MP for stills), providing high sensitivity, reduced noise, and wide dynamic range of over 15 stops. This sensor supports full-pixel readout and fast hybrid autofocus with 627 phase-detection AF points covering approximately 89% of the frame, allowing accurate and reliable autofocus even in low-light conditions as low as EV-6.
